This portrait of Oliver Cromwell was painted using reference from various sources, the portrait miniature painted by Cooper which was left unfinished,also several drawings, the Cromwell death mask, a portrait by an American artist called "Heade" I think, and a waxwork of Cromwell. This is my interpretation from my reference to hand as to how the man would have looked.
